The Perry Commodores will head out to challenge the Allen East Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Monday, Perry made easy work of Ridgemont and carried off an 8-1 win. The Commodores haven't had any issues with the Golden Gophers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Colten Scott made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 12 over 4.2 innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Marshall Capps was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Brodey Douce was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Allen East, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They blew past Spencerville 9-2 on Thursday.
Perry's record now sits at 8-5. As for Allen East, their record is now 13-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Perry has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Allen East struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Perry suffered a grim 12-2 defeat to Allen East in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Can the Commodores avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
