Ledyard dropped their record down to 19-4 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Norwich Free Academy Wildcats, falling 17-2. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Colonels, who until this matchup were averaging 3.96 runs allowed.

Faith Dalton was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Mia Starling, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

As for Norwich Free Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-5. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 contests by six runs or more this season.

On Norwich Free Academy's side, Dakota Bourdon spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits.

On the hitting side, Norwich Free Academy got a massive performance out of Amelia Driscoll, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three doubles, and four RBI. Those three doubles gave Driscoll a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Green, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.
