Basketball Game Preview: Waterville Panthers vs. Winslow Black Raiders

Waterville hasn't had much luck against Winslow recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Waterville Panthers will host the Winslow Black Raiders at 11:30 a.m. Waterville has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

It was a proper cat-fight when Waterville took on Belfast on Thursday. Waterville fell 64-52 to Belfast.

Meanwhile, Winslow got the win against Mount View on Thursday by a conclusive 66-45. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Black Raiders have posted against the Mustangs since January 30, 2023.

Winslow pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.7 points per game. As for Waterville, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Waterville might still be hurting after the 71-50 defeat they got from Winslow when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Waterville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
