Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Essex). They managed a 63-57 win over the Rappahannock Raiders on Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Trojans as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Essex's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 4-3. As for Rappahannock, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-8.

When Essex and Rappahannock next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Essex will face off against Lunenburg Central and their four-game winning streak at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Rappahannock will try to stop Mathews' three-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
