Baseball Game Preview: Tallulah Falls Indians vs. Hilton Head Christian Academy Eagles

The Tallulah Falls Indians will head out on the road to challenge the Hilton Head Christian Academy Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Tallulah Falls is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.

While Tallulah Falls' victory against Athens Christian wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Indians narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Eagles 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Indians have posted against the Eagles since April 22, 2022.

Justin Smith was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. Diego Gonzalez was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Hilton Head Christian Academy waltzed into their game last Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with an 8-4 win over the Knights. Eight seems to be a good number for the Eagles as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

The team relied heavily on Slaide Burd, who scored three runs and stole five bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Chip Hetzel, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Tallulah Falls is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Hilton Head Christian Academy, their record now sits at 5-2.
