Baseball Recap: Liberty Takes a Loss

Liberty suffered their closest defeat since May 16, 2025 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Chowchilla Redskins by a score of 4-2. The Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Redskins apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Liberty got a good showing from Eric DeBuck, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Deegan Shandor was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season.

Liberty's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Chowchilla, they moved to 8-7 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

While Liberty had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
