Basketball Recap: Harrisonburg Gets the Win

Harrisonburg won against Staunton on Friday with 42 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Harrisonburg Blue Streaks narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Staunton Storm 42-40. While the Blue Streaks didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Harrisonburg has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for Staunton, their loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-3.

Harrisonburg and Staunton's offenses will be put to the test in their next games. Harrisonburg and East Rockingham (who has only given up 28.2 points per game) will meet at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Staunton will challenge Alleghany at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, a team that's only allowed 28.4 points per game.
