Softball Game Preview: Sulligent Blue Devils vs. Winfield Pirates

Sulligent is 0-10 against Winfield since April of 2022 but things could change on Thursday. The Blue Devils will be playing in front of their home fans against the Pirates at 5:00 p.m.

Sulligent is headed into the game having just suffered their closest defeat since April 3rd on Wednesday. They fell just short of South Lamar by a score of 5-3.

Sulligent saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anna Claire Baughn, who went 1-for-4 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Winfield came tearing into Tuesday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against the Panthers.

Sulligent's loss dropped their record down to 12-16. As for Winfield, their victory bumped their record up to 28-12.
