Baseball Recap: Gahr Has No Trouble Against Bellflower

Gahr got themselves on the board against Bellflower on Tuesday, but Bellflower never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Buccaneers with a sharp 10-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Gladiators in their matchups with the Buccaneers: they've now won four in a row.

Gahr got a great performance from Jake Ourique as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Ourique has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Gahr let Andres Gonzalez and Evan Javier run wild. Gonzalez went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Javier went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most runs Gonzalez has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Taison Miller, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Gahr was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .524. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Gahr's victory bumped their record up to 13-10. As for Bellflower, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-15.

Gahr will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Buccaneers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
