Basketball Game Preview: St. David's Warriors vs. Cary Christian Knights

St. David has gone 9-1 against Cary Christian recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The St. David's Warriors will venture away from home to square off against the Cary Christian Knights at 5:45 p.m. Cary Christian took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on St. David's, who comes in off a win.

St. David's took a loss when they played away from home back in December of 2024, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 43-33 win over Wake Christian Academy.

Eliza Everett had a dynamite game for St. David's, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten boards. That's the most points Everett has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Anna Hauser, who posted 11 points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Cary Christian played a tough match on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by South Wake and fell 73-28. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 293rd, while the Sabres are ranked 20th).

St. David's pushed their record up to 8-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.5 points per game. As for Cary Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.

Everything came up roses for St. David's against Cary Christian in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 53-22 win. Will St. David's repeat their success, or does Cary Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
