Preview: Sheldon Panthers vs. Northeast Vernon County Knights
Sheldon is 9-1 against Northeast Vernon County since December of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Sheldon Panthers will head out on the road to take on the Northeast Vernon County Knights at 7:00 p.m. Sheldon has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
In what's become a running theme this season, Sheldon gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 53-29 margin over Montrose.
Sheldon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aiden Bogart led the charge by scoring 18 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. Bogart is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Aiden Ellifrits, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 assists.
Meanwhile, Northeast Vernon County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They suffered a rough 56-35 defeat at the hands of Drexel.
Sheldon has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. As for Northeast Vernon County, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-12.
Sheldon strolled past Northeast Vernon County in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a score of 65-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sheldon since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
