Basketball Recap: Keller Central Comes Up Short

Keller Central lost against Southlake Carroll back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Keller Central Chargers were dealt a 57-22 defeat at the hands of the Southlake Carroll Dragons. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 708th, while the Dragons are ranked 108th).

Skylaah Benbow was Keller Central's leading scorer, having posted 12 points. Benbow also led the team in rebounds with four. Aubrey Ayala took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Keller Central has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-21 record this season. As for Southlake Carroll, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-9.

Keller Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 64-42 loss against Byron Nelson on the 4th. As for Southlake Carroll, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Boswell at 6:30 p.m. on February 10th. Boswell will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Southlake Carroll surely won't give up without a fight.
