Baseball Recap: Williamsport Wins Going Away Against Shikellamy

Williamsport came out on top against Shikellamy on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run sixth inning. The Millionaires blew past the Braves 10-0. The Millionaires haven't had any issues with the Braves recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Not much got past Ryan Schur, who gave up just three hits to keep Shikellamy off the board. Schur has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Grant Vilello and Camden March did most of the damage at the plate: Vilello went 3-for-4 with three runs and one RBI, while March got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits Vilello has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Bair, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Williamsport always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.

Williamsport's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Shikellamy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Williamsport will challenge Mifflinburg at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Millionaires surely won't give up without a fight. As for Shikellamy, they will face off against South Williamsport at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
