Softball Game Preview: Royal Highlanders vs. El Camino Real Royals

The Royal Highlanders will be taking part in a tournament against the El Camino Real Royals at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Royal will be strutting in after a victory while El Camino Real will be coming in after a defeat.

Royal had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Agoura 5-3.

Julianna Galbraith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Holly White, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Marilyn Augusta, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one double.

Meanwhile, El Camino Real suffered their closest loss since April 3, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of Harvard-Westlake by a score of 6-4.

Amaya Perry made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Senia Gutierrez, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
