Basketball Game Preview: Smithville Smithies vs. Minerva Lions

The Smithville Smithies and the Minerva Lions will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Smithville is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Norwayne just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They took a hard 52-37 fall against the Bobcats. The game marked the Smithies' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Minerva came up short against West Branch on Friday and fell 47-36. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Minerva now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Smithville, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 11-2.
