Patriot extended their winning streak to nine on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 15-7 in the process. Everything went their way against the Jurupa Valley Jaguars as they made off with a 10-4 victory. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.
Dalia Islas looked comfortable as she tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
On the hitting side, Payton Maynard was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Aubree Peterson also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Patriot lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jurupa Valley didn't launched any home runs.
As for Jurupa Valley, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-10. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 15-5 Ramona and 14-5 Ramona (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 70.9% over those games).
On Jurupa Valley's side, Amanda Vargas was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.
Coming up, Patriot will venture away from home to face off against Ramona at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Jurupa Valley, they will host Norte Vista at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. The Jaguars are facing the Braves at the right time seeing as the Braves are stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
