Softball Recap: Upperman's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak at Home

Upperman won the last time they faced White County and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Bees walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Warriors. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Reece Kimmell made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 16 over seven innings pitched. Those 16 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Khloe Harper, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Eva Mathis, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Upperman hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as White County struck out 16 times.

Upperman's win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-10. As for White County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-11.

Upperman didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 7-0 defeat against Gordonsville on the 9th. As for White County, they will face off against Livingston Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Warriors' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
