Basketball Game Preview: Meadowbrook Monarchs vs. Hopewell Blue Devils

Meadowbrook hasn't had much luck against Hopewell recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Meadowbrook Monarchs will square off against the Hopewell Blue Devils at 7:15 p.m.

Meadowbrook is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest defeat since January 26th on Tuesday. They lost 54-34 to Matoaca. The loss was the Monarchs' first of the season.

Meanwhile, Hopewell put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 83-38 victory over Colonial Heights. Fans of the Blue Devils have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Hopewell's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. As for Meadowbrook, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Meadowbrook ended up a good deal behind Hopewell in their previous meeting back in January, losing 67-52. Can Meadowbrook avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
