Basketball Recap: High Point Academy Comes Up Short

High Point Academy was the 31-25 winner over Greenville Tech Charter when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The High Point Academy Grizzlies fell to the Greenville Tech Charter Warriors 50-45.

When it comes to explaining why High Point Academy lost on Friday, don't look at Ella Zhuk. Despite the final result, she went 6 of 8 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance gave Zhuk a new career-high in boards. Another player making a difference was Ti'Jah Davis, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Gracyn Schreel went supernova for Greenville Tech Charter, putting up 26 points and five steals. Charlotte Lawrence was another key player, earning nine points along with six boards and three steals.

High Point Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Greenville Tech Charter, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-8.

High Point Academy will square off against Chesnee at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Greenville Tech Charter has already played their next contest (against Laurens Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
