Football Recap: Arroyo Valley Comes Up Short

Arroyo Valley extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping them down to 4-10. They came up short against the San Gorgonio Spartans, falling 26-6. The Hawks were not able to make up for their defeat to the Spartans from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

As for San Gorgonio, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 12 points in those games.

San Gorgonio's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Izel Frias, who threw for 138 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 57 yards on only eight carries. That's the most rushing yards Frias has posted since back in August. Ava Bogarin made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Looking ahead, Arroyo Valley will welcome Colton at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hawks will be up against the Yellowjackets' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30.18 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for San Gorgonio, they will venture away from home to challenge Summit at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The SkyHawks' defense has only allowed 12.2 points per game this season, so the Spartans' offense will have their work cut out for them.
