Basketball Recap: Classical Prep's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Classical Prep lost against Seven Rivers Christian back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Classical Prep Lions took a 63-47 bruising from the Seven Rivers Christian Warriors. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Classical Prep still got an impressive performance from Kaelyn Malloy, who posted 20 points in addition to eight rebounds and seven steals. That was a full 42.6% of Classical Prep's points, marking the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Maddy Zimmerman was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and nine boards.

Even though they lost, Classical Prep smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 14 consecutive matches.

It was another big night for Annalise De Beer, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 12 rebounds for Seven Rivers Christian. De Beer is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least nine every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Johnnie Spaulding, who went 6 for 12 on her way to 16 points.

Classical Prep's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-10. As for Seven Rivers Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-6.

Classical Prep has already played their next contest, a 59-34 win against Academy at the Lakes on the 3rd. As for Seven Rivers Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-13 victory against Bishop McLaughlin Catholic on the 31st.
