Basketball Game Preview: Centauri Falcons vs. Buena Vista Demons

The Centauri Falcons are taking a road trip to square off against the Buena Vista Demons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Centauri is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Last Saturday, Centauri was fully in charge, breezing past Monte Vista 65-27. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 20 points or more this season.

Centauri relied on the efforts of Troy Sowards, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds, and Carson Bagwell, who went 7-for-11 en route to 16 points and eight boards. Those 11 rebounds gave Sowards a new career-high. Jace Haslett was another key player, putting up six points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Buena Vista didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Manitou Springs on Wednesday, but they still walked away with a 47-42 victory.

Centauri's win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-0. As for Buena Vista, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Centauri was able to grind out a solid victory over Buena Vista in their previous matchup back in February of 2022, winning 41-29. The rematch might be a little tougher for Centauri since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
