Softball Recap: Cosby's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Cosby waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They blew past the Monacan Chiefs 9-1. The Titans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Aislin Bossler, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Camryn Shaver also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Cosby hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Monacan struck out 13 times.

Cosby pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Monacan, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.

Looking ahead, Cosby will square off against King William at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Monacan, they will take on Midlothian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans will roll in looking for their 15th straight win, something the Chiefs surely won't give up without a fight.
