Baseball Recap: Scripps Ranch Takes a Loss

Scripps Ranch suffered their biggest defeat since March 21st on Tuesday. They came up short against the Cathedral Catholic Dons, falling 12-6. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Dons recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Scripps Ranch got a good showing from Christian Herrera, who tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, Herrera gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had over his last two games.

On the hitting side, Jesse Dawson was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That double was his first of the season.

Scripps Ranch's loss dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Cathedral Catholic, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-6.

While Scripps Ranch had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
