Basketball Recap: Green Tech's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

If Green Tech was feeling good fresh off their 91-53 takedown of Hoosac last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Green Tech Eagles came up short against the Long Island Lutheran Crusaders on Saturday, falling 87-62. The Eagles were not able to make up for their loss to the Crusaders from their previous meeting back in February of 2020.

Green Tech lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Indavier Barnes, who posted 26 points. That's the most points Barnes has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ramere Brown, who had 15 points and five assists.

Green Tech's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-7. As for Long Island Lutheran, their victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-5.

Green Tech and Long Island Lutheran should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps New York Rankings. Green Tech (ranked 42nd) will meet North Warren Central (ranked 305th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Green Tech is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.1 points per game this season. Meanwhile, Long Island Lutheran will square off against Legacy Early College at 4:00 p.m. on Friday up 124 places (12 vs. 136).
