Basketball Recap: Mannford Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Mannford unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 49-36 to the Berryhill Chiefs on Tuesday. The defeat was just more heartbreak for the Pirates who fell 48-46 when the teams previously met back in January.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Berryhill to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ethan Meza, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zhacari Jackson, who posted ten points and three steals.

Mannford didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 66-51 loss against Bristow on the 6th. As for Berryhill, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 46-40 defeat against Perkins-Tryon on the 10th.
