Baseball Game Preview: Sonoma Academy Coyotes vs. Willits Wolverines

The Sonoma Academy Coyotes will head out on the road to square off against the Willits Wolverines at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Sonoma Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.9 runs per game this season.

Sonoma Academy will head out to face Willits after giving up their first home loss of the season on Wednesday. The Coyotes came up short against Branson, falling 13-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Coyotes have suffered since March 11th.

Sonoma Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Proctor, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base. Proctor has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played.

Meanwhile, Willits was not the first on the board last Tuesday, but they got there more often. They had just enough and edged out Tomales 12-11. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolverines.

Willits' win bumped their record up to 5-8-1. As for Sonoma Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.

Sonoma Academy took their victory against Willits in their previous meeting last Monday by a conclusive 16-6 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Coyotes since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
