Soccer Recap: Edwardsburg Takes a Loss

Edwardsburg came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Vicksburg Bulldogs, falling 7-1. While losing is never fun, Edwardsburg can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 290th, while Vicksburg are ranked 62nd).

Edwardsburg has also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season. As for Vicksburg, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-5-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Edwardsburg is set to face off against their familiar foe Sturgis at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Vicksburg will challenge rival Plainwell at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
