Basketball Recap: Wilkinson County Comes Up Short

Wilkinson County saw some tournament action on Friday. They fell 51-41 to the Lovejoy Wildcats. The matchup marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lovejoy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Javion Barkley, who went 6 of 13 en route to 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Evans, who posted eight points and 12 rebounds.

Wilkinson County now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Lovejoy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-5.

Wilkinson County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 69-49 win against Crawford County on the 28th. As for Lovejoy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 73-38 victory against Academy for Classical Education on the 28th.
