Baseball Game Preview: Ashland Clockers vs. Dover-Sherborn Raiders

The Ashland Clockers will square off against the Dover-Sherborn Raiders at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.

Ashland came into this matchup off a tough six-run loss on Wednesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Blackstone Valley RVT by a score of 6-4 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Clockers have suffered since May 16, 2024.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dover-Sherborn). They never let Sharon get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Will Forman was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Matt Bowen, who went 1-for-3 with three runs and one double.

Dover-Sherborn now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Ashland, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

Ashland was able to grind out a solid victory over Dover-Sherborn in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 3-0. Will the Clockers repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
