Basketball Game Preview: Bowne Wildcats vs. Eagle Academy II Eagle

The Bowne Wildcats will square off against the Eagle Academy II Eagle at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Last Tuesday, Bowne ended up a good deal behind Forest Hills and lost 57-39. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 410th, while the Rangers are ranked 82nd).

Meanwhile, Eagle Academy II fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Thomas Jefferson Campus on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 76-69 to the Orange Wave. The loss continues a trend for the Eagle in their matchups with the Orange Wave: they've now lost four in a row.

Bowne's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-9. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points over those games. As for Eagle Academy II, their loss dropped their record down to 18-6.

Things could have been worse for Bowne, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 47-29 loss to Eagle Academy II in their previous meeting back in March of 2022.
