Softball Recap: Stoughton Black Knights vs. Milford Scarlet Hawks
Stoughton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 9-3 to the Milford Scarlet Hawks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Stoughton of the 16-11 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.
For Milford's part, Maeve Driscoll spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up 13 Ks. Those eight innings set a new season-high mark for her.
At the plate, Olivia Baglione was excellent, going 1-for-5 with three RBI, a triple, and a run. Another player making a difference was Cae Pellegrini, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
