Soccer Game Preview: Mt. Diablo vs. Clayton Valley Charter

Mt. Diablo is 0-8 against Clayton Valley Charter since December of 2014 but things could change on Tuesday. The Mt. Diablo Red Devils will challenge the Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles at 7:00 p.m.

Mt. Diablo is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Saturday. They came up short against Northgate, falling 4-1. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 685th, while the Broncos are ranked 199th).

Meanwhile, Clayton Valley Charter had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Broncos a 2-0 shutout. Rohman Mahmood had the honor of scoring the game-winner for the Ugly Eagles.

Clayton Valley Charter's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-2-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 12 goals over those four games. As for Mt. Diablo, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13-2.
