Basketball Recap: Elizuh Davis' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Andrew Jackson Academy over Thomas Heyward Academy

After flying high against Cross last Tuesday, Andrew Jackson Academy came back down to earth. The Andrew Jackson Academy Warriors took a 54-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Thomas Heyward Academy Rebels. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rebels apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

Andrew Jackson Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elizuh Davis, who went 5 of 6 en route to 11 points and five boards. Davis is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Vashahd Schofield, who posted 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Andrew Jackson Academy's loss dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Thomas Heyward Academy, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-3.

Andrew Jackson Academy has already played their next contest, a 66-61 victory against Beaufort Academy on the 31st. As for Thomas Heyward Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 61-34 win against Holy Trinity Classical Christian on the 31st.
