Baseball Recap: Avon Comes Up Short

Avon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 10-9 heartbreaker at the hands of the Penn Yan Academy Mustangs. That's two games in a row now that the Braves have lost by just one run.

Connor Smith was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Brandon Hunt, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Avon's defeat dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Penn Yan Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-13.

As of now, neither Avon nor the Mustangs have any future games scheduled.
