Basketball Recap: Stratford Takes a Loss

Stratford lost against Whites Creek back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Stratford Spartans were beaten by the Whites Creek Cobras 69-26. The Spartans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 55-22.

Several Spartans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Taniya Roberts, who posted eight points. Another player making a difference was Hannah Johnson, who had seven points.

Stratford's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-13. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 17-0 East Nashville Magnet (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 66.1% over those games). As for Whites Creek, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Stratford didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 0-0 victory against KIPP Nashville Collegiate on the 22nd. As for Whites Creek, they have also already played their next contest, a 41-24 defeat against East Nashville Magnet on the 22nd.
