Hokes Bluff had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past the Gadsden City Titans 16-2 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Lacey Grace Hall made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). Hall was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases she has posted over her last eight matchups.
In other batting news, Sophia Jackson was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Mazley Ball, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.
Hokes Bluff always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gadsden City only posted an OBP of .273.
