Volleyball Recap: Metcalfe County Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Metcalfe County lost against Russell County back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Hornets fell just short of the Lakers by a score of 3-2.

Metcalfe County took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-23, 22-25, 25-16, 15-10.

Despite the loss, Metcalfe County still got an impressive performance from Amelia Slinker, who had 32 digs and six assists. Slinker has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last five times she's played. Lily Horton also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Metcalfe County has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-3 record this season. As for Russell County, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Metcalfe County will face off against Allen County-Scottsville at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Russell County, they will welcome Casey County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
