Soccer Game Preview: Freeman vs. Navasota

The Freeman Golden Eagles will head out to challenge the Navasota Rattlers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, it was close, but Freeman sidestepped Sealy for a 2-1 win.

Gabriel Colmenares was the driving force of the Golden Eagles' attack as he scored both of the Golden Eagles' goals, bringing his season total up to eight goals.

Meanwhile, Navasota entered their tilt with Sealy on Friday with 12 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 13. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Rattlers who were credited with the victory. Given their advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while Sealy are ranked 554th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Freeman's record now sits at 11-5. As for Navasota, their record is now 14-1.

Freeman suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Navasota when the teams last played back in January. Can the Golden Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
