Volleyball Recap: McKinney Boyd Takes a Loss

McKinney Boyd was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Wakeland Wolverines. The Broncos were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolverines apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2023.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-22, 24-26, 25-20.

Aubree Fernandez was the offensive standout of the game as she had 24 digs and three assists. She has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last three times she's played. Kaitlyn Burke also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

McKinney Boyd's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Wakeland, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

McKinney Boyd will face off against Prosper at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wakeland, they will square off against Independence at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
