Soccer Game Preview: Havelock vs. Dixon

The Havelock Rams are taking a road trip to face off against the Dixon Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Havelock's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Dixon will have to contend with a Havelock team hungry for a victory, something the squad hasn't seen since March 19. Havelock and West Carteret finished up their contest with a 2-2 draw on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Dixon got the win against Swansboro on Tuesday by a conclusive 5-1. The result was nothing new for Dixon, who have now won five matchups by four goals or more so far this season.

They hit Swansboro with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Emma Davis (3), Jordan Burns, and Aileen Lowman.

Dixon has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 33 goals over those seven contests. Havelock's draw makes their record 2-10-3 this season.

Havelock suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to Dixon in their previous meeting back in March of 2023. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
