Baseball Recap: Elysian Fields Comes Up Short

Saturday just wasn't the day for Elysian Fields's offense. They fell 3-0 to the East Texas Homeschool Sports Chargers on Saturday. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Yellowjackets' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Brandon Kennedy was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Kennedy was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one triple, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now stolen at least one in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season.

Elysian Fields' record now sits at 0-2. As for East Texas Homeschool Sports, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Looking ahead, Elysian Fields will host De Kalb at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday. As for East Texas Homeschool Sports, they will square off against Mt. Enterprise at 9:15 a.m. on March 1st.
