Hamlin had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over the Winters Blizzards. For the Pied Pipers, this counts as revenge for the 22-4 victory the Blizzards walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Hamlin let Zaya Montoya and Kadynce Yarbrough run wild. Montoya scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1, while Yarbrough scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-2. The dominant performance gave Yarbrough a new career-high in stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Kinzlee Gruben, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Winters now has a losing record of 2-3.

Coming up, Hamlin will challenge Dublin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Winters, they will take on Hamlin at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
