Softball Recap: South Pontotoc's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

It was a good run, but South Pontotoc unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the East Webster Wolverines by a score of 5-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolverines this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-3 back in February.

Blakelee Dollins made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 1-for-2. Jacee Mcclellan was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

South Pontotoc's loss dropped their record down to 11-5. As for East Webster, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as South Pontotoc Cougars challenge Ethel Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for East Webster, they will venture away from home to take on Aberdeen at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. East Webster is facing Aberdeen at the right time seeing as Aberdeen is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
