Basketball Recap: Moses Allen Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Clearwater

On Saturday, the Carrollwood Day Patriots were able to grind out a solid win over the Clearwater Tornadoes, taking the game 61-50.

Carrollwood Day's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Moses Allen, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Kanicki, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 15 points.

Clearwater's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tavaris Gant, who posted eight points and 11 boards. Those 11 rebounds gave Gant a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kris Foote, who went 5 for 12 en route to 15 points.

Carrollwood Day now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Clearwater, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-7 record this season.

Carrollwood Day will challenge Jesuit at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Jesuit's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games. As for Clearwater, they will square off against Boca Ciega at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Boca Ciega has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
