Basketball Recap: Spur Comes Up Short

Spur was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 70-17 loss at the hands of the Valley Patriots. The Bulldogs lost against the Patriots in their previous head to head back in December of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 57-34 score last time.

Valley found their leader in freshman Corbin Taylor, who made all 12 shots he took racking up 28 points and eight rebounds. That's the most points Taylor has posted since back in December of 2024. Kanyon Taylor was another key player, putting up 14 points along with eight boards and three blocks.

Spur's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Valley, they pushed their record up to 21-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Spur will square off against Guthrie at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Valley, they will face off against Motley County at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
