Baseball Game Preview: Copiague Eagles vs. Northport Tigers

For the second straight game, Copiague will face off against Northport. The Eagles will face off against the Tigers at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.

Northport hit Copiague with a six-run fifth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost nine in a row.

Copiague saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Peralta, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.

Northport has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games. As for Copiague, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
