Baseball Recap: Palmetto Comes Up Short

After soaring to 12 runs the game before, Palmetto was a bit more limited in their match on Wednesday. They lost 9-2 to the Braden River Pirates. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Tigers have suffered against the Pirates since March 3, 2021.

Blake Willis was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Palmetto dropped their record down to 3-9 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Braden River, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.

Coming up, Palmetto will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Sarasota at 6:00 p.m. Sarasota will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for Braden River, they will be playing at home against Florida State University High School at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
