Galena won the last time they faced Verona and things went their way on Saturday too. The Bears walked away with a 2-0 win over the Wildcats.

Galena easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-15.

Mel Rice paced Galena's offense, picking up seven kills. Rice got some help from Ava Watson and her seven assists. Chloe Simpson and Maddy Bilyeu kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with three aces apiece.

Galena's victory bumped their record up to 15-8-3. As for Verona, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.

Galena wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Monett on the 27th. As for Verona, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Chadwick on the 27th.
