Volleyball Game Preview: Wendover Wildcats vs. Rich Rebels

Wendover is 0-5 against Rich since September of 2023 but things could change on Friday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:15 p.m.

Wendover lost 3-0 to Tintic on Saturday.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-17, 25-10.

Meanwhile, Rich entered their tilt with Manila on Saturday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 3-1.

In the three sets Rich was on fire: they won each by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 23-25, 25-14, 25-11.

Rich had a senior duo take command as Tess Cornia had 33 assists and Paige Smith had 18 digs and four aces. Cornia has been hot for a while, having posted 16 or more assists the last 20 times she's played.

Rich's victory bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Wendover, their loss dropped their record down to 4-19.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's match: Wendover has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 5 aces per game. However, it's not like Rich struggles in that department as they've been averaging 10.2 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
